Art links us across time
Since humans first began to walk the earth, they have sought to express themselves by etching images onto the walls of caves, by erecting stone monuments, by embellishing the most functional tools with designs.  There is something so primal about expressing ourselves through images that it has been essential in every civilization.

Whether through paintings, sculpture or stained glass, or more functional basketry, jewelry or pottery, we continue to seek beauty in all its forms and surround ourselves and our homes with it in ways large and small.

By learning to see things in new ways, we learn to appreciate beauty and art, even when what we are seeing is not something we could create.

By supporting the arts and the teaching of art, we ensure that whole generations of children will grow up learning to appreciate and to create the kinds of art that endures beyond generations.
